Third German national Player registered for 50th International Dortmund Chess Days

After last year's winner GM Dmitrij Kollars was already announced for the NC World Masters 2023 and GM Matthias Blübaum for the Sparkassen A-Open 2023, the third regular player of the German national team has been registered: GM Rasmus Svane will compete just like Blübaum in the strong A-Open in the 50th anniversary of the Chess Days.

As in previous years, the organiser Initiative Pro Schach e.V. attaches great importance to giving the best German players the opportunity to play a prominent role in the leading German chess festival.

Svane is only 25 years old and has nevertheless been one of the top German players for several years. His highest Elo rating to date was already 2651, which put him in the top 100 in the world. At the 2022 Chess Olympiad, he represented the German national team on the third board. After things didn't go so well for Svane in Dortmund 2022, he wants to have a say in the anniversary edition when it comes to the main prize of € 5,000 in the A-Open.

The top players already registered are:
GM Gata Kamsky (USA, 2666)
GM Matthias Blübaum (GER, 2661)
GM Ruslan Ponomariov (UKR, 2655)
GM Rasmus Svane (GER, 2620)
