Christian Glöckler (picture from the German Chess Federation) is 12 years old, has an Elo rating of 2356, is a Fide Master and has now achieved his second IM norm in Bremen. The third norm should be collected at the International Dortmund Chess Days 2024 at the latest.

He made his Dortmund debut at the Sparkassen Chess Trophy 2021: in the highly competitive round-robin tournament, he narrowly missed out on winning the tournament and finished a strong second behind Pavel Eljanov. He then moved up in 2022 and won the NC World Masters ahead of World Champion VIswanathan Anand.

The date from 10 - 18 August 2024 has been set, the announcement for the tournaments has been published and registration is open. Tournament director Andreas Jagodzinsky answers the first questions about the 51st International Dortmund Chess Days.
