13-year-old Ukrainian continues to lead in the B-Open

Artem Dyachuk was under pressure on the first board of the Sparkassen Open B today, but eventually held his game against his compatriot Bohdan Lobkin to a draw in the queen's endgame.

Dyachuk fled to Germany with his mother shortly after the war began in Ukraine. He now lives in Hanover, but has been playing chess since he was 6 years old. The 13-year-old Ukrainian now leads the Sparkassen Open B by one point before the last round, because the chasing game between Linus Rohm and Abdullah Alghawi also ended in a draw on the second board.

The last round starts on Sunday at 9 a.m.!
