Another grandmaster of the world's elite will compete in the Deutschland Grand Prix of the 49th International Dortmund Chess Days: David Navara is coming to the Sparkassen Chess Trophy in July! This makes him the fourth confirmed participant after last year's winner GM Pavel Eljanov, last year's runner-up GM Dmitrij Kollars and European Champion GM Matthias Blübaum.
Navara currently has a rating of 2693, but has already exceeded the magic 2700 many times, his maximum so far is 2751. So by July he has a good chance of even travelling to Dortmund as a "2700er". Navara lives in Prague, recently turned 37 and has numerous successes to show. He won the title with his club at the recently concluded Czech Team Championship. In Germany, he is known as the top player of SV Mülheim-Nord in the Bundesliga, where he has been delivering outstanding performances since 2012. He is known for creative and combative chess, so chess fans can look forward to interesting games in Dortmund. David Navara also speaks perfect German and is looking forward to Dortmund in the summer.
