Another prominent world-class player and old acquaintance of the International Dortmund Chess Days has confirmed his participation for the 50th anniversary: GM Michael Adams will once again take part in the International Dortmund Chess Days. This year in the strong A-Open with the first prize of € 5,000.
The three-time winner of the International Dortmund Chess Days will return to the Westfalenhallen Dortmund in 2023 for the 50th anniversary! World Championship challenger Fabiano Caruana (photo: Dortmunder Schachtage 2016, by Gerhard Hund) won the Chess Days in 2012, 2014 and 2015. In June he will compete in No Castling Chess for the first time.
GM Pavel Eljanov was the outstanding player of the last two International Dortmund Chess Days: in 2021 and 2022 he won the grandmaster tournament in the Sparkassen Chess Trophy. In 2023 the Ukrainian will return to the stage in the Goldsaal of the Westfalenhallen: he will compete in the NC World Masters of the 50th International Dortmund Chess Days.
