Two rounds have been played in the B-Open of the 50th Dortmund International Chess Days. 228 players went to the start. Now 36 players are still perfectly on track with 2 points. On the first board, the game between Andreas Scharrenbroich and Jan Paul Roth ended in a draw in the second round. On the second board Franz Michalek (photo) won with Black and is one of the tournament favourites in the B-Open. The third round starts on 26.6. at 10:30 a.m. - all tables and draws can also be found on Chess-Results.com.
What a start in the Sportland NRW Cup of the 50th International Dortmund Chess Days! 5 games saw 5 winners. The national player WGM Dinara Wagner (photo) and IM Georgios Souleidis as well as the 12-year-old Hussain Besou had a dream start: they beat the three participating grandmasters.
The first round of the A-Open and the Sportland NRW Cup is live! On stage 4 women are playing on the 5 boards today: WGM Dinara Wagner and WGM Jana Schneider in the closed tournament against GM Mihail Saltaev and IM Ruben Köllner. WGM Carmen Voicu-Jagodzinsky on board 2 of the A-Open against GM Alexander Donchenko and WGM Josefine Heinemann on board 3 with Black against GM Michael Adams. In addition, top seeded GM Matthias Blübaum against FM Arkadi Syrov.
The 50th International Dortmund Chess Days start tomorrow, Saturday, at 10:30 with the B-Open. The first round of the A-Open will then take place in the afternoon.
