On the hottest day of the year so far, the top-ranked players in the B-Open were in a fighting mood: Out of 12 players with 100%, 6 remain after the 4th round.

The third and last preliminary round on lichess.org was again very well attended and 8 qualification places were up for grabs. In the end, Marc Schulze (photo), a visitor from the weekend, prevailed.

After Vladimir Kramnik had to pull out at short notice due to health reasons, the official opening move of the NC World Masters of the 49th International Dortmund Chess Days took place at the board of Michael Adams and Daniel Fridman.
